# Wave 1: Employer Domain

# Wave 1: Employer Domain

**Status**: IN PROGRESS
**Domain**: Employer-facing product surface — signup, authentication, the AI agent companion, dashboard, contextual intelligence.
**Owner**: @pj

***

## Scope

Wave 1 owns everything the employer user experiences: from signup through chatting with the hiring companion, navigating the dashboard, reviewing conversation history, and using the contextual sidebar that feeds the agent intelligence about where the employer is in the product.

Wave 1 does not own job-posting specifics (Wave 2), candidate-facing surfaces (Wave 3), candidate selection / matching (Wave 4), platform guarantees (Wave 5), or developer tooling (Wave 6). It owns the employer's relationship with the agent.

## M1 Paychex Pilot Contribution

**Floor**:

* 205.2 finished — removes hardcoded Clerk publishable key, finalizes employer ID FK strategy

**Already delivered in Wave 0** and leveraged by the pilot:

* Employer Clerk signup + Paychex-branded login flow (Cycle 211, 212)
* Employer chat interface with SSE streaming (Cycle 205, 205.1, 212)
* Employer dashboard and navigation (Cycle 205)

**Out of pilot**: The full sidebar intelligence (216.x series) is post-pilot; pilot ships with the existing chat surface.

## Downstream Dependencies

Waves 2–5 all build on top of the employer agent + chat + dashboard. When Wave 2 adds job-posting tools, they render in the employer's existing chat thread. When Wave 4 ships the Match Agent, it surfaces insights through the employer sidebar (Cycle 216.x). No Wave 1 cycle blocks any other wave, but Wave 1 UX decisions (sidebar model, conversation history model) influence every downstream feature that emits notifications or generative UI.

## Historical Context

Wave 1 was previously labeled "MVP Completion" (cycles 205.2, 206, 207). In the 2026-04-17 domain-reorganization: Cycle 206 (Candidate Portal) moved to Wave 3 where it was superseded by Cycle 323.5; Cycle 207 (Quality + Production) moved to Wave 5 as platform work. Wave 1 now owns the employer domain exclusively.
